Meet the Poway Team Behind DryMark Restoration Poway

We’re the crew that shows up when your kitchen’s under three inches of water or a sewage line backs up at 2 a.m. Every person on this page is based in or near Poway, works exclusively out of our local warehouse, and answers to Alicia Brennan, who still reviews the photo documentation on jobs herself. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s that none of us will start a job without a written scope signed by the homeowner, and none of us leave without the photo record complete. That’s Haven Standard, Clause 1, and it’s non-negotiable whether we’re drying a crawl space in Old Poway or remediating mold in a Rancho Bernardo townhome.

Our People

Alicia Brennan, Owner

I started DryMark Restoration Poway in 2011 after eight years as a claims adjuster, and I built this company around the single problem that cost homeowners their settlements: missing documentation. I watched adjusters deny legitimate water damage claims because the restoration company never logged psychrometric data, the daily moisture readings that prove a structure actually dried. So I wrote Haven Standard, Clause 1: written price before work starts, every time, no exceptions. I still review drying logs on jobs over $10,000, and I’ll personally take a second-opinion call if you’ve got a competitor’s estimate that doesn’t make sense. Off the clock, I restore vintage motorcycles, which is where I learned that torque specs exist for a reason, and “close enough” ruins engines.

Marcus T., Lead Water Technician

Marcus has been with us six years and runs our emergency water response crew. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), and he’s the person who decides whether we can save your oak flooring or if it’s coming out. He carries a thermal imaging camera on every call and will show you the moisture boundary in real time, then explain the vapor pressure differential, the force that drives water from wet materials into dry air, in terms you’ll actually understand. Marcus lives in Sabre Springs with two rescue pit bulls who, he claims, are better behaved than most homeowners during a 3 a.m. pipe burst.

Diana R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer

Diana handles our containment builds and negative air setups, the physical barriers that keep mold spores from migrating to clean rooms during remediation. She’s RIA-certified and specializes in tertiary drying, the final phase where we drop humidity low enough that dormant spores can’t reactivate. She’s built containment in everything from a 400-square-foot garage in Poway to a 6,000-square-foot estate in The Heritage, and she keeps a photo log of every job’s daily progress, same as the rest of us. Diana grows tomatoes in raised beds behind her house and is quietly competitive about yield weights with the other techs.

James K., Service Coordinator

James answers the phones, schedules crews, and manages adjuster communication, which means he’s the live person who picks up when you call (858) 683-1768 at midnight on a Sunday. He’s been with us four years and knows which insurance carriers require pre-authorization for sewage cleanup versus water damage, and he’ll have that documentation started before the crew even loads the truck. James is the one who delivers your written scope via email or print, your choice, and follows up with the photo record link after every visit. He commutes from Escondido and has a spreadsheet ranking every breakfast burrito in North County, which he updates religiously.

Elena V., Restoration Apprentice

Elena joined us in 2024 after completing a construction technology program at Palomar College, and she’s training across every service line, water to fire to biohazard. Right now she’s shadowing Marcus on water jobs and learning to read moisture meters, interpret psychrometric charts, and document to IICRC standards, the industry protocols that turn raw data into evidence an adjuster will pay. She’s already certified in OSHA 30 and bloodborne pathogen handling, and she’s the person who checks that every Dri-Eaz and Phoenix dehumidifier on a job is logging its output correctly. Elena lives with her parents in Poway while she saves for a condo and talks about drywall finishing the way other people talk about vacation plans.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

DryMark Restoration Poway is independently owned and operated under The Haven Standard, the same framework that governs every Back to Dry crew across our network. That means your job in Poway gets the same documentation rigor, the same equipment specs, and the same warranty as any other restoration we perform in California. Your crew arrives in marked vehicles, in uniform, with names and license numbers you can verify. We deploy the same professional-grade drying systems, Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry, documented to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards. Your daily moisture logs, your photo record, your written scope, and your signed 365-Day Done Right Promise all live in one file. Alicia Brennan reviews the documentation on large losses personally. If something’s not done right, we make it right. That’s not a slogan. It’s Haven Standard, Clause 7, and it’s stamped on your paperwork.
